Chemical Peels

Here at Oceanview, we offer several different chemical peels for different skin types, textures, and client requests.

Chemical peels use different chemical combinations to improve overall skin appearance. Chemical peels increase skin glow and radiance, tighten the skin and restores a more youthful appearance, and improve clarity, color, and skin texture

One of the most common misconceptions about chemical peels is that you will peel. In reality, peeling has to do with the individual’s skin type and which of the many available peel products were used. All chemical peels work under the dermis to heal your skin and create new skin. If you do peel, it is either because your superficial epidermis is more sensitive to the changes in your dermis than other people or because product was added to specifically make you peel. If you do not physically peel, that does not mean that the peel is not effective.

Basic Chemical Peel

For our Basic Chemical Peels, we use Glo products. These are our most affordable chemical peels that are still very effective, promoting the repair and regeneration of the skin. We offer the Glo 30% Glycolic, Glo Lactic, and Glo Jessner. Our aestheticism chooses between these products based on your specific needs. These peels:

• -Aid in the elimination of actinic keratosis
• -Improve the appearance of aging skin, uneven texture, and tone
• -Promote softer, smoother skin
• -Improve the appearance of fine lines
• -Reduce the appearance of melasma, freckles, acne, and mild cases of rosacea

SkinMedica Illuminize Peel

For mild skin imperfections

Appropriate for first-time chemical peel patients or patients looking for a gentle, very superficial peel

Non-invasive, very superficial chemical peel

Utilizes a novel approach to chemical peeling with a newer generation of alpha-hydroxy acids (mandelic acid and malic acid) in combination with phytic acid and commonly used peeling agents (salicylic acid and resorcinol) to maximize skin rejuvenating effects with low irritation.

Patients achieve enhancement of skin appearance with minimal downtime and discomfort

May be performed on Skin types I- VI

Little or no visible peeling

SkinMedica Vitalize Peel

For mild-to-moderate skin imperfections

Helps fight the effects of time, sun damage, and environmental assaults. This powerful yet non-damaging peel can take years off aging skin.

Effective for: pigmentation abnormalities, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, melasma, and photodamage

May be performed on Skin types I- VI

Peeling solution combined with Retinoic acid creates more exfoliation than other chemical peels of the same depth

Expect 1-4 days of peeling

SkinMedica Rejuvenize Peel

For moderate-to-severe skin imperfections

Advanced formulation of peeling agents, with a built-in anti-irritant and penetration enhancer that provides controlled exfoliation of the uppermost damaged layers of the skin to reveal fresher and healthier skin.

Effective for use of skin with sun damage, melasma, pigmentary changes and acne scarring

Noticeable improvement with just one peel

Recommended for Skin types I-VI

Can be used on skin types V-VI after the patient has established tolerability to Vitalize Peel, or with physician consent

A novel synthetic surfactant, Isoceteth-20, creates more uniform peeling while controlling penetration of salicylic acid, and therefore reduces skin irritation associated with the stronger chemical peels without diminishing peeling effect

Expect 2-4 days of peeling
